Dr. Rama Narayanan has a Ph.D in Nutrition; she has more than forty years’ experience in community nutrition, working with both NGOs and the government, in the areas of maternity and early childhood, and household food and nutrition security. Her core competencies include policy analyses, quantitative and qualitative research in community nutrition, and capacity building of a wide range of stakeholders in nutrition. She has designed, implemented and evaluated participatory training programmes in nutrition literacy for marginalised communities, using adult learning principles, and has developed a tool kit and training module for nutrition literacy. Dr.Narayanan has been the convenor of the Chennai Chapter of the Nutrition Society of India (NSI),  between 2014 – 2018.
