Empowering and exposing Odisha farmers to livelihood options
As part of the Integrated Farming System Model project, farmers were taken for an exposure visit to Central Poultry Farm in Jagadalpur, Chhattisgarh, on December 23rd. The primary objective was to raise awareness among farmers on the significance of poultry farming and encourage to adopt it as an additional income source, particularly for those without land. The programme involved a comprehensive tour of the poultry farm and engaging technical sessions led by poultry experts. 40 farmers from five villages in Boipariguda block actively participated.
On December 15, partnering with Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Government of Odisha, MSSRF organised two cluster-level capacity building trainings focusing on oyster mushroom cultivation for 85 women farmers belonging to eight Women Self Help Groups (WSHGs) from four different villages of Boipariguda block.
