MSSRF scientist presents on biodiversity at national seminars
The Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh organised a seminar on December 4, focusing on the Cultural Heritage of Tribes in Eastern Ghats, where Dr. Kartik Charan Lenka, Scientist with BPTAbC MSSRF, highlighted contributions of the Foundation in safeguarding tribal heritage while conserving biodiversity. He spoke on Prof M S Swaminathan’s pivotal role in gaining recognition for Koraput Tribal Agriculture as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (GIAHS) awarded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 2012.
In a seminar titled ‘Exploring role of biodiversity in nation building’ organised by Govindpalli Science College, Malkangiri on December 18, Dr. Kartik Lenka, addressed more than 200 students on the important role of biodiversity in shaping India’s future.
