Dr. Gayatri is an alumna of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She specialises in plant molecular biology. With over two decades of experience at MSSRF, she has conducted extensive research on the molecular and regulatory aspects of salinity tolerance in mangroves and crop species using molecular biology techniques. She is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, India. Throughout her career at MSSRF, Dr. Gayatri has authored more than 45 research articles, published in international journals and is a registered guide with the University of Madras. Under her guidance, four Ph D scholars have received their doctoral degrees. Additionally, she has mentored doctoral and postdoctoral fellows engaged in national and international collaborations.
