Tribal Youth become Master Trainers

MSSRF’s Biju Patnaik Tribal Agro-biodiversity Centre organised two capacity building training programmes for tribal youths from January 22 to 27, and February 19 to 21. The first programme was a six day residential programme on intensive fish farming, followed by a three-day residential training on farming systems for nutrition. 52 tribal youths from Kundra, Koraput, Boipariguda and Lamtaput blocks in Koraput district participated actively.

The trainings were intended to empower youth from the tribal community and to serve as ‘Master Trainers’ by sharing the knowledge gained from the programmes with other farmers. By collaborating with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, BPTAbC endeavours to promote innovative farming practices for sustainable agriculture in Odisha.
