MSSRF signs a MoU with Annamalai University, aims to engage and enhance the skills of young researchers

The MS Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Annamalai University, Chidambaram to promote research and development in Marine Sciences, Agriculture and Fisheries.

The collaboration aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • To undertake joint research programmes in the mutually agreed areas.
  • To develop and execute joint proposals to address the societal needs.
  • To conduct research on fisheries development in MSSRF field sites (on job/internship).
  • To organize and participate in workshop, exchange visits and other forums relevant for dissemination of the research outcomes.
  • To guide and facilitate the students during their internship.
  • To provide employment entrepreneurship-linked skills training to the fisher folk and students.
  • To share the expertise for the mutually agreed research areas such as coastal natural resource conservation and wise-use of fishery resources.
     

Together, these two institutions plan to leverage their resources and scientific knowledge for practical applications that benefit farmers, fishers, students and the community.
