Agronomic rehabilitation measures of ‘Gaja’ affected regions in Nagapattinam and Thanjavur Districts

Cyclone Gaja hit Tamil Nadu coast on 16th November, 2018 devastating the lives of the coastal people. MSSRF undertook a rapid assessment survey of the damages in the coastal districts of Nagapattinam. As a follow-up of the assessment survey, MSSRF in association with other research institutions held a technical consultation on January 30-31, 2019 for the agronomic rehabilitation of farmers from the affected areas in Nagapattinam and Thanjavur Districts. The other partner institutions were Coconut Research Station, TNAU in Veppankulam, Pattukkotai, Faculty of Agriculture, Annamalai University, Chidambaram & Joint Director of Agriculture, Thanjavur, and Dept. of Agriculture, Tamil Nadu.
