Project Overview:
The Mukhyamantri Maize Mission (MMM) aims to improve productivity, increase the area under cultivation, facilitate maize production in clusters for easier access to the maize market by processors, and reduce the cost of cultivation. This initiative is designed to showcase the benefits and techniques of monocropping maize, thereby enhancing productivity and income for participating farmers while promoting maize cultivation.
Increased returns to farmers from maize cultivation through increased production, reduction in cost of cultivation/ post-harvest losses and increased returns from direct linkage with formal markets. Increase in area under cultivation to cater to the domestic requirement of maize based industries. Promote farm mechanization and climate resilient agriculture practices for sustainability of production systems. Increased participation of women in maize value chain. Increased agency of farmers and their organizations i.e., FPCs Increased involvement of value chain players including academia, research agencies, processors, facilitators, and service providers etc. for holistic development of the sector. Promote local consumption in food and as feed. Training and extension in maize agronomic practices and post-harvest management. Strengthen role of information and technology in the value chain.
