Project Overview: 

Crop Diversification Programme in Mega Lift Irrigation Project (CDP-MLIP) has been implemented by MSSRF collaboration with Department of agriculture & Farmers Empowerment, Govt. of Odisha in Kundra and Jeypore block of Koraput districts  an objective to diversify upland and medium land paddy areas to non-paddy crops with focus on millet, maize, pulses, oilseeds and Horticultural crops in upland/medium land in Kharif. Cluster based promotion of Post-harvest technology, Value addition & Marketing through FPOs & WSHGs and Agriprenuers & Community Based Organisations for higher income. To create awareness, capacity building and community mobilization of farmers on sustainability of cropping pattern and diet diversification.

Farmers interested in non - paddy cultivation  involved actively.Two blocks  Kundra and Jeypore with 3 MLIPs has part of the initiative as a 2314 hector covered  3250 farmers  in this project. Eight FPC involve in different activities like bio input production, aggregation, processing and value chain.
